Booking Terms and General Conditions

These terms apply to bookings of axe throwing (the ”Activity”) at Mad Axe Throwing Club (Mad Axe Stockholm AB, reg. no. 559558-5620), Kammakargatan 18, Stockholm. By booking, you accept the terms below.

1. Introduction

These terms apply between Mad Axe Throwing Club (Mad Axe Stockholm AB, reg. no. 559558-5620) and the person who books the Activity (the ”Booking Manager”). The Booking Manager and all participants must be at least 18 years old. Bookings are made via madaxe.se and become legally binding when the booking confirmation is sent to the email address provided. Anyone booking on behalf of a legal entity confirms they are authorised to enter into binding agreements on its behalf.

2. The Booking Manager

The person who makes the booking is responsible for the entire booking and all payments related to it. The Booking Manager is responsible for cancelling in time. All participants must arrive ten (10) minutes before the booked session starts, otherwise the group may lose part of its time. The Booking Manager should inform the other participants of these terms.

3. Payment and deposit

When booking, you pay a deposit of SEK 350 for the whole group. The deposit confirms your booking and is deducted from the total price at your visit. The remaining amount is paid on site by card or Swish. Corporate/business customers may, by agreement, pay by invoice.

4. Cancellation and rebooking

Changes to the number of participants, rebooking or cancellation must be made at least twenty-four (24) hours before the start time for bookings of up to six (6) people, and at least seventy-two (72) hours before the start time for more than six (6) people. Cancellations are made by email to stockholm@madaxe.se and are valid only once you have received a cancellation confirmation. The deposit is binding and is not refunded for cancellations, rebookings or a reduced number of participants later than the timeframes above, or in the event of a no-show. If the change is made in time, the deposit is moved to the new date free of charge. If Mad Axe cancels or reschedules the Activity, the full deposit is refunded or the booking is rescheduled free of charge - your choice.

5. Non-payment

In the event of missing or late payment, we are entitled to charge 8% interest on overdue payments until payment is made in full, as well as statutory reminder and debt-collection fees. We are also entitled to refer the matter to the Swedish Enforcement Authority (Kronofogden) and take other legal action.

6. Requirements for participation

To take part, each participant must, on arrival at the venue: (a) be at least 18 years old and prove their age with valid ID, and (b) complete and sign the activity agreement (”Participant’s certifications and confirmations”).

7. Safety rules

Safety is the highest priority in everything we do. Any breach of our rules or other unsafe behaviour may lead to immediate suspension and removal from the premises - any fee paid is not refunded in such cases. Every participant must follow the instructions of the coach and other staff. Wear closed-toe shoes (no high heels) and comfortable clothing that allows good freedom of movement. Any injury must be reported to staff immediately. Participants under the influence of alcohol, drugs or strong medication may not take part.

Participants must NEVER:
  • Use the equipment contrary to the coach’s instructions.
  • Touch the axes before the safety briefing.
  • Hand their axe directly to another person.
  • Bring food or drink into the throwing area.
  • Enter the throwing area before the coach gives permission.
  • Cross the throwing line before all axes are in the target or on the floor.
  • Throw before the other person in the lane has finished their throw.
  • Leave the throwing area holding an axe.
  • Throw backwards (tricks) or with their face turned away from the target.
  • Handle the axes in an unsafe manner.
Participants must ALWAYS:
  • Use the equipment only as instructed by the coach.
  • Throw facing the target and only in a vertical direction.
  • Place the axe in the axe box and let the next person pick it up from there.
  • Tell staff immediately if anything feels unsafe.
  • Follow the instructions of the coach and staff.

8. Risks

There is a risk of serious personal injury, property damage and, in the worst case, death in connection with the Activity. Participation is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

Participants take part of their own free will and at their own risk, and must exercise caution. We are not liable for injuries caused by a participant failing to follow our recommendations or safety rules, nor for injuries a participant causes to themselves or others through careless, negligent or intentional conduct. The participant is solely and fully responsible for their conduct and any failure to act. Our liability applies only to injuries caused by faults or deficiencies for which we are responsible, for example in the venue’s environment, fixtures or equipment.

10. Processing of personal data

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to manage and administer the booking and to verify participants’ age and identity. Signed participant agreements are stored for up to one (1) year from the date of signing, or longer if an injury has been reported. Read more in our privacy policy.

11. Other terms

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, this does not render the terms invalid as a whole. The provision in question is renegotiated in light of its purpose and the remaining parts stay in force.

12. Force majeure

We are released from our contractual obligations, with no liability to pay compensation or other liability for damage, if performance is made impossible or substantially impeded by circumstances beyond our control - such as epidemic, pandemic, government decision, labour dispute, fire, war or other similar event.

13. Governing law and disputes

This agreement is interpreted in accordance with Swedish law. Disputes are settled by a general court in Stockholm unless mandatory legislation provides otherwise. Consumers may, in the event of a dispute, turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, www.arn.se) or submit a complaint via the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
